Independent UK driving guides, checked against GOV.UK

About RoadReadyHub

RoadReadyHub is an independent UK website that explains driving tests, driving licences and the rules of the road in plain English. We cover the theory and practical tests, provisional and full licences, HGV and motorcycle licences, lessons and instructors, driving jobs, penalty points and fines, plus a handful of calculators for the numbers drivers often ask about.

The idea is simple. Official guidance on GOV.UK is accurate, but it’s spread across dozens of pages, and plenty of what you find elsewhere is out of date or written to sell you something. We pull the official facts together, explain what they mean for you, and link straight back to the source so you can check it yourself.

We’re not the DVSA, DVLA or GOV.UK

RoadReadyHub isn’t part of, or endorsed by, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), the Driver & Vehicle Agency in Northern Ireland (DVA) or any other government body. We can’t book tests, process licence applications or look up your driving record.

When a guide involves something you have to do officially, such as booking a test or applying for a provisional licence, we link to the official GOV.UK service. Some unofficial websites charge extra to do these things for you, so check you’re on a gov.uk address before you pay.

Who runs RoadReadyHub

RoadReadyHub is managed and maintained by Kapil and his team. Kapil is an SEO and content specialist. He decides what the site covers, based on the questions UK drivers actually search for, and oversees how every guide is researched, checked and kept up to date.

Kapil isn’t a driving instructor or a driving examiner, and we won’t pretend otherwise. That’s exactly why our process leans so heavily on official sources: every rule, fee, points total and process step is checked against GOV.UK, the DVSA, the DVLA or the Highway Code before a page goes live.

How we put our guides together

Each guide starts with research into the official guidance, then goes through drafting, fact-checking and editing before it’s published. Pages that involve law, fees or official processes show a “Last checked” date and link to the source we used.

Our content is researched and drafted with the help of AI tools, then fact-checked, edited, and approved by our editorial team before publishing. You can read the full process, including how we handle corrections, in our editorial policy.

How the site is paid for

RoadReadyHub is free to read. It’s supported by display advertising, and we may add affiliate links in future where a product is genuinely useful to learners and drivers. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in what we write. Our affiliate disclosure explains how this works.

Spotted a mistake?

Driving rules and fees do change, and we’d much rather hear about an error than leave it on the site. If something looks wrong or out of date, get in touch and tell us which page it’s on. We can’t give legal advice or help with an individual DVLA or DVSA case, but we check every correction that’s sent to us.
