This privacy policy explains what personal data RoadReadyHub (roadreadyhub.co.uk) collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
RoadReadyHub is an independent information website about UK driving tests, licences and road rules. It’s managed and maintained by Kapil and his team. Under UK data protection law, Kapil is responsible for how personal data is handled on this website (the “data controller”). You can contact us about anything in this policy at kapil@kapilseo.com.
The information we collect
When you browse the site
Like almost every website, our web server records basic technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, uses this information to keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix technical problems.
Pages on the site currently load a small script from Hostinger’s servers that supports site features such as email signup forms. When this happens, Hostinger receives your IP address and basic browser information.
When you email us
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use this only to reply to you and, if you’ve reported a mistake, to correct our content.
When you leave a comment
If comments are open on a page and you leave one, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, along with your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. Your comment and the name you give are shown publicly. Your email address isn’t.
Comment forms can show a profile picture from Gravatar, a service run by Automattic. To check whether you have one, a scrambled code created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to Gravatar. You can read Automattic’s privacy policy for details.
Advertising
RoadReadyHub is supported by advertising. When ads are running, they may be provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners can use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, measure how they perform and, if you agree, show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
If you’re in the UK or the EEA, you’ll be asked for consent before non-essential advertising cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also manage personalised advertising in Google’s ad settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Analytics
We don’t currently use analytics tools that track individual visitors. If we add one, such as Google Analytics, we’ll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Why we use your information
UK data protection law requires a lawful basis for each use of personal data. Ours are:
- Legitimate interests: running a secure, working website, replying to messages, preventing spam and correcting our content.
- Consent: using non-essential cookies, such as advertising cookies that personalise ads. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or share information.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal data. We only share it with service providers that help run the site:
- Hostinger, which hosts the website, keeps its server logs and provides site tools
- Google, if advertising is running, depending on your cookie choices
- Automattic (Gravatar), if you leave a comment
Some of these companies may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, they must use the safeguards that UK data protection law requires for international transfers.
How long we keep it
- Emails: for as long as we need them to deal with your message. We review our inbox at least once a year and delete messages we no longer need.
- Comments: for as long as the comment stays published, so follow-up comments can be recognised and approved.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that’s wrong
- ask us to delete your data
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- ask for your data in a portable format, where that applies
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office through the ICO website. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us.
Children
RoadReadyHub is written for learner drivers and adult motorists. It isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page if the way we handle personal data changes, for example if we add analytics or change advertising partners. The date below shows when it was last updated.
